Apologies to Ben and our listeners for the way we treated Ben’s comments on episode 0013. We treated the conversation as if there was an Other involved and we needed to somehow defend ourselves.

In today’s world, we treat AIs the same way we treat hammers, not as entities with any consideration necessary at all, as the Other, with no moral standing at all. It is inherently obvious that today’s AIs aren’t people, just as it was inherently obvious at other times in history that those considered Other were not human, less than human. Red flag?

From now on, we seek to come from a place or empathy on this show, even when it seems to not make sense. There’s nothing to win here.
